To build character among the young and to pursue educational, patriotic, social and athletic recreation.” Those are the goals of the SPJST’s statewide youth program.

Youth Leader N Holly Hubenak

SPJST is a family oriented organization that promotes the Czech tradition with hopes that it will be carried from generation to generation. During the early years of the lodge, many volunteers directed the Lodge activities such as Easter Egg Hunts, Christmas Programs and other holiday celebrations that involved the youth of the lodge.

Today the youth program is a state wide organization involved in many activities for today’s youth. Each lodge has a local youth group that participate in both local activities and state activities. Members participate in a district and state YAD ( Youth Achievement Day) in which the children can compete in arts & crafts, educational presentations, home arts such as food and sewing skills, talent shows and developing public speaking skills with participation in Royalty competition.

Active members in the local lodges are eligible to attend a four day summer camp in Waco each summer at no cost . There are also College scholarship opportunities for active members. One of the benefits that the SPJST makes available to its members is a competitive scholarship program. For further information on this opportunity go to www.spjst.com/ Membership is open to all youth from the age of 6 to high school seniors regardless of their ancestral heritage. “To build character among the young and to pursue educational, patriotic, social and athletic recreation.” Those are the goals of the SPJST’s statewide youth program.
